Green IT at Monash University

Monash University runs a Green IT Program which has improved their ITS performance and also reduced their carbon footprint . In 2009, Monash University, RMIT and the University of Melbourne signed an agreement to share a Green Data Centre , which has significantly reduced the carbon emissions of Monash and also helped them to streamline business operations.

The ITS Staff have also launched an e-recycling system which allows different departments on the campus to recycle their technology devices. Other initiatives at their campus include Green Purchasing, Recycling Phones, Videoconferencing locations and much more. Monash is keen on working with the ANU on Green ICT initiatives and see Green ICT as a strategic move for their organization
