Green ICT at The Australian National University

The Green Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Project is an initiative by The Australian National University to make the ICT infrastructure and services on campus more sustainable.  This includes reducing the energy use of ICT infrastructure, using ICT to improve energy efficiency across the University as well as lowering the environmental impact of the life cycle of ICT products and services. ANU relies on technology for research, operation, teaching and academic programs. The energy consumption of ICT infrastructure on campus and the associated carbon footprint is rising annually due to an increase in ICT prevalence. With energy costs expected to increase in the next few years, this project comes at an opportune moment to maximise cost savings and improve the environmental performance of the University.
